Delete your Niazime account

Version 2026-10-11.

In the app (quickest)

Sign in to Niazime, go to Settings → Your data → Close my account, and confirm with your PIN (or type DELETE if you have not set one).

You can close your account once no loan is running and your wallet is empty. If money is in your wallet, withdraw it to M-Pesa first.

If you cannot open the app

Email info<at>niazime.com from any address with the subject "Close my account" and the phone number on the account. Do not send your ID number or PIN. We confirm the request with you on that phone number before closing the account, and reply within 30 days.

What is deleted, and what we must keep

Deleted at once: your M-Pesa statements and the summary we made from them, your questionnaire answers, device records, PIN, preferences and notification settings. You are signed out everywhere.

If you never borrowed or lent, we also delete your name, date of birth and ID reference, and release your phone number.

If you did borrow or lend, anti-money-laundering and tax law require us to keep your identity record and transaction history for seven years after the account closes. We keep nothing beyond that, the account cannot be used to sign in, and the records are deleted when the period ends.
